Some new songs

So I randomly start singing. This usually occurs when I am holding Emma. Since she was born, I have made up three (3) songs while holding her. Here they are:

OLD MAN CHESTER

Old Man Chester lives down by the river
Down by the river
Down by the river
Old Man Chester lives down by the river
He’s got a mighty big shiver

Old Man Chester’s [arm] has a shiver (shake your arm)
Arm has a shiver
Arm has a shiver
Old Man Chester’s [arm] has a shiver
He’s got a mighty big shiver

Old Man Chester’s [leg] has a shiver (shake your leg)
Leg has a shiver
Leg has a shiver
Old Man Chester’s [leg] has a shiver
He’s got a mighty big shiver

(repeat with bum, head, and end with tongue)

DON’T DRINK THE WATER

Don’t drink the water,
Drink milk instead.
It will make you healthy,
It will make you strong
From your feet
Right to your head.
Oh! Oh! Oh!

Don’t drink the water,
Drink milk instead.
It will make you healthy,
It will make you strong
From your feet
Right to your head.
Oh! Oh! Oh!

(repeat as often as you like)

BUZZARD, BUZZARD, BUZZARD

Buzzard, buzzard, buzzard
Flying in the air
Buzzard, buzzard, buzzard
Flying everywhere
Buzzard, buzzard, buzzard
Way above my head
Buzzard, buzzard, buzzard
He eats things that are dead
Oh!

Buzzard, buzzard, buzzard
Flying in the air
Buzzard, buzzard, buzzard
Flying everywhere
Buzzard, buzzard, buzzard
He’s feathers are black
Buzzard, buzzard, buzzard
He wants to eat my back
Oh!

Buzzard, buzzard, buzzard
Flying in the air
Buzzard, buzzard, buzzard
Flying everywhere
Buzzard, buzzard, buzzard
Way up in the sky
Buzzard, buzzard, buzzard
He wants to eat my eye.

(add as many other verses as you would like)

Mark just gave me a blessing. I peeked. Zach was standing folding his arms. We didn't ask him to. Then he climbed on my lap to put his hands on my head.

The Chin

Not enough hands? No problem. Use your chin.

Zachary's Haircuts

Zachary has now had three haircuts. His first one was last fall when we gave him a mullet—he had hair in his eyes. The second one was just two weeks before Emma was born. We went down to Ferron. I was sad, but it was so time for him to cut his hair. It was sooooo long. (But awesome. Curly awesome hair.)

The third haircut was just a week ago. He sure looks like a big boy now.

Daddy's Boots

I never get old of little kids wearing adult's shoes. I never get old of Zachary putting my slippers on or Mark's flip flops. I love it.

But I wanted to share this picture. I was laughing so hard when I caught Zachary wearing his dad's boots this way. What a cute kid!!!!

Emma's Birth Length

According to the nurses in the delivery room, Emma was 18.5 inches long.

According to the nurse checking Emma out of the NICU, Emma was 20.75 inches long.

In three weeks she grew 2.25 inches? I think not! I didn't think she was 18.5 when she was born anyway.

With all the other doctors appointments in the past four weeks, I'm pretty sure Emma was measured wrong in the delivery room. She's 21 inches now. So, on her birth announcements, I've decided to put that she was 20 inches long, not 18.5 inches.

Just thought I'd put that out there.

Apple

Zachary has picked up a few new words this week. They include "door" and "apple." There was another one--but I admit, I already forgot what it was. I think it was "please."

Anyway, Zachary says "ah-po" for apple. It's so dang cute. And it's almost a question every time he says it.

Last night, Saturday night, we had some pineapple with dinner. He realized that tasty delight he was enjoying was also "ah-po." So he kept asking for it. We let him have quite a bit because we were pleased he was asking for it. "Ah-po?" "Ah-po?"

After a little while, he started trying to get the hair off his tongue. Hahaha!!! He'd had so much pineapple he was getting a fuzzy tongue! We were giggling about it. Funny boy.
